Top 10 Reasons I love the Institute For Integrative Nutrition [ #IINAmbassador ]!

Nova Jade* ~ Ambassador For Health + Happiness!

There are so many things to celebrate these days, and I thought I would start with celebrating and appreciating the Institute For Integrative Nutrition.  So, let’s dive right in!

I love The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), the Largest Nutrition School In the World, because of:

  1. The Experience

I’ll graduate from IIN February 2015, and I can honestly say that being an IIN student has been one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences of my entire life thus far.  You get what you put into things, and what I have gotten out of my experience with IIN is WAY more than I expected to get, even though I’ve consistently put in my 110%!
They consistently under-promise and over-deliver at IIN!

  2. The Experiential Education

Part of my great experience is the fact that IIN encourages students to go out and DO, rather than just learn…

The Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior has cited that experiential education yields more successful results than traditional classroom methods.  It has always been my philosophy as a student and guest educator to value Experiential learning.  I am glad there is science to back up my personal theory about this type of learning, and happy IIN knows this, as well!

  3. The Teachers

We get to learn from the BEST and most forward thinkers of the Health and Nutrition field, and not just from one segment of the industry.  They are past students, doctors, and others who are passionate about promoting a positive and healthy Health Culture.  IIN truly takes an un-biased approach, and brings in teachers who can speak on hundreds of diverse dietary theories and philosophies so that we, as students, can go out and see what works for us.

Some of my favorites: Dr. Lissa Rankin, Dr. Deepak Chopra, The Cookbook Project Founders, David Wolfe, Karin Witzig Rozell, and Latham Thomas (Mama Glow).  I honestly could name at least 20 more, lol.

  4. The Staff

Thankful to the staff at IIN, especially my Coaching Circle Guide, Tammi Hoerner.  Truly, in many ways, without her gentle and effective guidance, I probably would have talked myself out of a valuable opportunity to work with her and the students she guided through a 6-month group study program during our year at IIN.

  5. The Students

The students are so wonderful, diverse and passionate.  I love all my fellow students, and the past students who are still connected to new students.  This community is global (30+ countries, I believe), and yet, it feels so warm and welcoming.

I am happy that we get to learn via online education, so that we can study from anywhere and connect with all sorts of students from a gamut of places. This provides  a wonderful open forum of perspective, which adds to the richness, and depth of learning.

  6. The Personal Transformation

The Health Coaching program is one year, and the information could be calculated to over 10+ years of education learned.  Aside from the education about Food, Nutrition, Health, the most important thing is the Personal Transformation we all go through.

My own journey includes: meeting my Twin Flame (and getting engaged!); connecting with a new agent/manager for my DJing career; being consistent with this blog; starting a new life in a whole new city; conquering my fear of falling by learning to Climb at a Bouldering Gym; and finding out I have a half sister.

Oh, and most of that happened before the halfway mark of the program.  🙂

  9. The Support

Fast. Prompt. Reliable.  Asking for help was never one of my fortes before starting at IIN, and now it is part of my DNA. 🙂  I’ve been re-programmed to see asking for help as a leadership skill and an asset to be valued.

I appreciate Christine in the office who has helped me a couple of times to stay in school and on track when I wasn’t sure I’d be able to continue as I transformed out of toxic environments and mindsets and into the space of positive abundance and growth.

The support at IIN is top-notch!

  10. The Resources

IIN gives you everything you need to succeed.  End of story.  There’s no excuse to not succeed, as they not only give you handouts and the education, but IIN also provides the step-by-step how-to’s to do anything and everything you can imagine in the Health Coaching profession, including providing access to a community of past students and lecturers who can help you as you grow yourself and your business.

So, in a nutshell, if you want to become a Health Coach, now’s the time.  Even if you don’t want to do it as a profession, which is OK, you can use the education to better your health and happiness.

Because ultimately, your health and happiness is what is most important.

Here’s to your health, happiness and WHOLEness!
