My 30 Day Yoga Challenge, Day 14
(Easy Does It)
[ Me Day ]
Today I took almost a 3 hour nap. This means I had no time to head to the Yoga Studio, even if it is only 2 minutes from my home.
Thursdays are my Me Days, or even just a day when I do something Self Care-centric for myself (what I call, “Me Time”).
Today I truly needed to do a Day for Me (even though everything Thursday it is schedule in). So I napped and did my yoga practice at home.
[ The Experience ]
My Yoga session went like this:
- 7 Minutes in Easy Pose, meditation
- 5 Minutes Happy Baby pose (or, you can see the pose done perfectly here, too)
- 5 Minutes, Child’s Pose through movements that ended in Mountain Pose (quite exactly at 5 Minutes I got into Warrior Pose, too)
- 3 Minutes Chanting Chakra Tones.
I kept my eyes closed. I did equal breathing. I tapped into the simplicity of life with my simple, intentional movements. Along with the napping I did today, I tapped into the essence of my youth, methinks, too.
[ The Takeaway ]
20 minutes is more than enough to do the body good, as far as yoga and meditation goes. It’s far better to be intentional for 20 minutes than it is to be spaced out and unfocused for an hour. Then again, that’s all relative.
What I do know is that for me, “Easy Does It” was my mantra today, and easy did me well.
I call Thursdays my Gratitude Thursdays; though, I am grateful daily, through out the day. I am grateful I have the lifestyle than can afford me time to care for my SELF.
For it is days like today I remember that life Flows gentler than we force it to…
