Here’s Your Weekly Wednesday #GentleNudge To Get You Over The Hump…
and into the weekend!

I recently took my final test as a student at the Institute For Integrative Nutrition, the Largest Nutrition School in the World.  This means, that I am a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach!

Will Health Coaches be the future of healthcare? Doctors are trained to treat illnesses, but they do not help their patients change the behaviors that lead to them. Health Coach and IIN graduate Maria Marlowe explains why Health Coaches fill a unique role in the medical field that is becoming evermore crucial.

Before taking my final test to graduate, I had to really ground myself and get focused.  In order to do so, I took a moment to remember two important quotes (or, mantras):

“I am at the right place, at the right time”
“There is no need to worry or rush, the Universe always has perfect timing”

Allowing myself to settle into these undeniable truths, I relaxed… and aced the test 100%!

 The Takeaway

In life you have choices… you can choose to be stressed, or choose to be blessed.  Find a way to stay relaxed and trust the process.  Know that you are exactly where you ought to be right now, and that the only time that matters, truly, is right now.

Do you have a personal mantra?

Earlier this year, I asked for help from one of my fellow Health Coaches at school.  I was trying to get back to center, to my core, which involved getting back into the water again, just for fun.

You see, I’d spent just under 15 years of my life as a competitive swimmer, and when I stopped being competitive, I also stopped enjoying being in the water. I actually had become fearful to just BE in the water, because for so long, swimming meant having to DO something (win, break records, go, go, go).  With a lil’ bit of encouragement, the Health Coach I worked with helped me to come up with a personal mantra earlier this year:

All is Well.

As the months past, I had almost forgotten my mantra. Today I was gently reminded of the importance of having a personal mantra when I attended my first Hatha Yoga Class.

[ The Experience ]

Screen Shot 2014-11-23 at 6.28.00 PMThe movements were repetitive. They weren’t to be forced. The mantra we used:

Here. Now.

As we inhaled the movements, we breathed in presence.

As we exhaled and moved, we released into the Now.

I found myself listening to my body and going deeper into each repetition, easier, more easy than how I had started when class begun.

[ The Takeaway ]

Our personal mantras usually sound like this:

I’m Tired. I’m late. I’m busy.

And what happens? Well, naturally, we get more of that which we think (thank you Law of Attraction!)  Our mantras become us.

I learned today to settle into the CHOICES I can make for myself each day, moment to moment.  I can choose to be busy, or choose to be immersed in the fact that all is well.  Just the same, I can choose to be lost in “out there”, or simply in the loving, supported blessing of BEING. Here. Now.
