99 days ago, I challenged myself to meditate and chant for 40 consecutive days.  

I’ve been working around the clock on projects and so today’s meditation was truly welcomed.  As Andi even stated, it’s nice to find ways to take a pause in the day.

I really am grateful today I was able to pause to recenter myself.

[ The Takeaway ]

Meditation is right for me. I feel light and like I can tackle another few hours on what needs to get done. Though, as I write that, isn’t the only thing that needs to be done is living and breathing? Hmmm…

I am grateful for perspective that lies within focused, inward breathing.

My 10 Day Meditation Challenge, Day 4

98 days ago, I challenged myself to meditate and chant for 40 consecutive days.  

Well, my mind was just a-wanderin’ today.

I would be focusing on my breath and start thinking about the exciting things I’m working on in my business. Or, I would be counting my breath to 10, and somehow “wake up” to the number 12. Days like this, I just laugh.

A lot can happen in a 10 Day Meditation Challenge, and today I observed that my body was a tad tighter and my mind wandered more than yesterday, or even the day before.

I equate it to deadlines and exciting times!

[ The Takeaway ]

Truly, you gotta just be an observer of thoughts, allowing the thoughts to rise as they will.  It’s nothing good or bad, just a glimpse of what is.

The more I meditate, the more I am able to observe my thoughts, as well as be less thrown off by life.  I enjoy having meditation as part of my daily practice, just as much as I enjoy having yoga part of it, too.

97 days ago, I challenged myself to meditate and chant for 40 consecutive days.  

It’s Day 3 of this 10 Day Meditation Challenge, and today we were guided to become a better observer of our thoughts (and not a leaf blown in the wind of our thoughts). I noticed that my thoughts were either silent, or of creating new business cards. Haha.

[ The Takeaway ]

I am allowing myself to be Guided in this new way of experiencing my meditation practice using the Headspace App.

With that allowance, I am able to relax fully and breathe deeper.  I often try to force myself into what I feel things should be or how they should go.  But when I let that go, and do my best to be a better observer of my life, I feel lighter in the process.

[ This just in ]

I completed this post and checked my email to send a fellow blogger an email.  As I did, I see that Headspace sent me a congratulatory email marking my 3rd completed day! Yay!  I enjoyed the science fact in the email:

My 10 Day Meditation Challenge, Day 2

96 days ago, I challenged myself to meditate and chant for 40 consecutive days.  

It’s Day 2 of this 10 Day Meditation Challenge, and I am nearly to my 100th consecutive day of chanting and meditation.  I LOVE IT! It’s really nice to go inward.

Especially after a cat nap.

I took a lovely 45 minute rest and woke up, put on my headphones and turned on my Headspace App.  Today was better, since Andy seemed to talk less.  Funny thing happened: as I sat on the bed cross-legged in Easy Pose, the cat I am fostering starts to scratch herself on my fingers, and then found her way into my lap to rest as I sat in zen.

I took a cat nap, and then the cat napped on me!

At the end of the session, the guide, Andy, asked how we felt before and after the meditation.  I chuckled, because before I meditated, I felt super relaxed a la nap status. Afterward, I felt rejuvenated for a night of leading a group session, kickboxing and practicing yoga for my 30 Day Yoga Challenge.

All in all, everything is zen… 🙂

Gratitude is an Attitude, A Feeling

Feelings are powerful signals that you are aligned with your destiny.  When you aren’t aligned, how do you feel?  My guess is you feel frustrated, angered, stress, overwhelmed, full of anxiety…

You get the point.

When you are aligned.  How do you feel? Do the words joyful, happy, blissful, wonderful and peaceful ring a bell?

Both types of feelings are normal.  However, when you feel grateful, you feel more like the words described when you are aligned with your destiny.

How to Feel Grateful

There are many ways to feel grateful, but the through-line is that there is a yummy feeling that washes over you.  It not only washes over you, it washes over the people around you, spreading out like a ripple of the sea…

In a nutshell, to feel grateful, do the things that make you feel good.
